Connect Slack to OpenClaw
Bring your OpenClaw agent into your Slack workspace. It works as a Slack app that can respond in channels, threads, and direct messages.
> Before you start
Make sure you have:
- ✓ A running OpenClaw agent. Your agent must be deployed and in a "Running" state on Clawly (or self-hosted).
- ✓ A Slack workspace. You'll need admin permissions to install apps.
- ✓ Access to the OpenClaw GUI. You'll configure the Slack integration through your agent's settings.
> Step-by-step guide
1. Create a Slack App
Go to the Slack API portal and click Create New App. Choose "From scratch", name it, and select your workspace.
2. Configure bot permissions
Go to OAuth & Permissions and add the following bot token scopes: chat:write, channels:history, groups:history, im:history, app_mentions:read.
3. Install to your workspace
Click Install to Workspace and authorize. Copy the Bot User OAuth Token (starts with xoxb-).
4. Connect on Clawly
Open the OpenClaw GUI from your Clawly dashboard. Go to Settings → Channels, enable Slack, and paste your bot token. Restart the agent.
5. Invite and chat
Invite your bot to a channel with /invite @yourbot. Mention it to start a conversation, or send it a direct message.
