Connect Gmail to OpenClaw

Connect your OpenClaw agent to Gmail and let it help manage your inbox β€” read emails, draft replies, send messages, and summarize conversations.

> Before you start

Make sure you have:

  • A running OpenClaw agent. Your agent must be deployed and in a "Running" state on Clawly (or self-hosted).
  • A Google account. You'll need a Gmail address you want your agent to access.
  • Access to the OpenClaw GUI. You'll configure the Gmail integration through your agent's settings.

> Step-by-step guide

1. Open the OpenClaw GUI

From your Clawly dashboard, click OpenClaw GUI to open your agent's management interface.

2. Enable Gmail

Go to SettingsChannels and enable Gmail. You'll be prompted to sign in with your Google account and grant the necessary permissions.

3. Authorize access

A Google OAuth window will open. Sign in and allow OpenClaw to access your Gmail. The permissions requested will depend on what you want your agent to do (read, compose, send).

4. Start using

Your agent can now access Gmail. Ask it to check your inbox, draft a reply, or summarize unread emails through any connected channel.

Privacy note

Your agent only accesses emails when you ask it to. It does not continuously monitor your inbox unless you explicitly configure it to do so. You can revoke access at any time from your Google Account permissions.
