Connect X (Twitter) to OpenClaw

Connect your OpenClaw agent to X (formerly Twitter) and let it manage your social presence β€” post tweets, reply to mentions, and keep up with your timeline.

> Before you start

Make sure you have:

  • A running OpenClaw agent. Your agent must be deployed and in a "Running" state on Clawly (or self-hosted).
  • An X Developer account. Apply at developer.x.com if you don't have one.
  • API keys and tokens. Create a project and app in the X Developer Portal to get your API key, API secret, access token, and access token secret.

> Step-by-step guide

1. Create an X Developer app

Go to the X Developer Portal, create a project and app, and generate your API keys and access tokens. Make sure your app has Read and Write permissions.

2. Configure in the OpenClaw GUI

Open the OpenClaw GUI from your Clawly dashboard. Go to SettingsChannels, enable X/Twitter, and enter your API key, API secret, access token, and access token secret.

3. Start using

Your agent can now interact with X. Ask it to post a tweet, check your mentions, or summarize your timeline through any connected channel.

Tip: Set up guardrails

Since tweets are public, consider configuring your agent to require approval before posting. You can set this up in the OpenClaw agent settings under the approvals configuration.

Don't have an agent yet?

Clawly deploys and manages your OpenClaw agent for you. Pick a plan, connect your channels, and your agent is live in seconds.
